XPath 2.0 Schema Validation & Content Checking Enhancements Application to Security Gateway Usage Models
With the arrival of XPath 2.0, we will begin to see uses of XPath for more than just node-set selection. For example, XPath 2.0 offers functions and capabilities that enable SOA applications to greatly strengthen the content checking of messages while at the same time targeting those checks to just the parts of the documents that are relevant.
This whitepaper first gives an overview of the new features of XPath 2.0 then describes new features in Intel® SOA Expressway that make use of these new capabilities. The new capabilities fall into two complementary areas, enhanced schema validation of element content and enhanced content checking for security gateway usage models based on SOAP or plain-old-XML (POX).
